Iedereen kan er zijn zegje over doen maar de ‘real talk’ komt van nieuwkomers zelf. Mercy heeft besloten haar ervaringen als nieuwkomer neer te schrijven.
Op de tweede lijn komen de side kicks. Een side kick is de persoon die de vaste kameraad, begeleider of assistent is van iemand anders, meestal van een televisiepresentator, politicus of acteur, waarbij hij een ondergeschikte rol heeft ten opzichte van degene die hij begeleidt of wiens assistent hij is. Naar analogie ben ik, Leon, de side kick van nieuwkomer Mercy. Ik mag ook mijn zegje doen maar alleen vanop de tweede rij.
Wij hebben een grote sympathie voor nieuwkomers, hun side kicks maar ook voor nieuwkomers die schrijven of spreken over nieuwkomers. Je kent het wel: ik ben een influencer tinge ling tinge ling…

We work on topics such as migration, the rights and welcoming of (candidates) newcomers, principles and elaboration of the so-called 'integration and naturalization process', the right to multiculturalism and multiple nationality.
Everyone can have their say about it, but the 'real talk' comes from newcomers themselves. Mercy has decided to write down her experiences as a newcomer.
Then we have the sidekicks. A sidekick is the person who is the regular companion, guide, or assistant of someone else, usually a television presenter, politician, or actor, having a subordinate role in relation to the one they assist or accompany. In analogy, I, Leon, am the sidekick of newcomer Mercy. This means that I also get to voice my opinions but in a secondary order.
